I thought I could hold out until the Moby was running, but I was
wrong. Tonight I took off the cylinder and the carb on my Puch and prepped them for over-boring. My old setup for the Puch was a 12mm carb with a 12mm intake and a 10mm cylinder intake. This setup got me up to about 20mph. I also have a bi-turbo exhaust and high air flow filter. 20mph just wasn't enough and when I read I could overbore my setup to reach speeds up to 40mph I had to try it.
Now in order to reach speeds in the 40's I need to meet a minimum of 15mm on all the parts. I have faith that I can accomplish this, but still worry about screwing it up. I will also need to re-gear to a 17/41 setup to push it to the mid 40's. I can hold off on the gears until spring when I purchase new tires. That way I can just go ahead and switch the gears while the tires are off. This week I will go to Home Depot and get the necessary dremel tools and also some parts for the Moby. I hope to have the Puch running again before Valentine's Day. Wish me luck!

Hopefully by this summer I will be able to afford this small upgrade for my Puch. It's a new 15mm bing carb that will increase my speed by 10mph with some extra gearing. I will also have purchase a new intake and the sprockets, so this is looking to be a $150 upgrade. Like I said, hopefully by this summer. It would be nice to keep up with traffic at 40mph!
