About two weeks ago Bloomington hosted it's first Moped Rally, The Brodeo! It began on Friday with a night ride through town and a party at Dallas'. We had about 20 riders show up which is great for a Mini Rally. Saturday morning we woke up and went to breakfast a the local Waffle House. We then gassed up and headed out on the big ride to Yellow Wood National Park. The ride was amazing and with my recently modded ped I was blasting everyone left and right. There were only 3 faster mopeds than mine at the Rally. I would drop back in the pack and blast to the front. The ride was about an hour long out and we only had 2 peds break down. We had a chase van so don't worry, no one was left behind. At the park we ate some snacks and chatted about mopeds. We also went on a 3 mile hike in the woods. Fun! After the hike everyone was tired and hungry so we headed back to town where we were having a cookout at Cascades. We had burgers and hot dogs. We were there for a good 3 hours so of course I brought Mocha. She loved the running space and everyone thought she was adorable. After the cookout we had some time to kill before the night ride and concert. Dallas' band was playing at a house and several riders attended. Sunday morning we had lost half the pack, but 10 riders remained and still wanted more so we headed out to Lake Monroe. We circled the Lake and stopped to rest a bit near a boat dock. Sunday's ride was amazing, we had great weather and great people. I received several compliments about my ped and Jenn's. Some of the Moped's "Elites" said my ped was amazing with its speed and reliability. They also told Jenn that they have never seen a Moby in as good as condition as her's and as fast (she can get into the 40's STOCK)! The Brodeo was a great Rally and I'm sure more are to come!
So in other news I recently moved into a new apartment and love it! It's near the stadium so I hope to attend more games this season. Also I am trying to plan a weekend to come in and see the family. I will know as soon as my new schedule is posted exactly when that is. I would like to plan another weekend for my father to come up and go to a football game with me. He mentioned also about maybe going to Indy to get him a moped, we will see.
So this weekend Bloomington will be hosting the Brodeo! It starts on Friday and ends on Sunday. I am super excited and will take lots of pictures. I have been breaking in a new kit for about a week now, so hopefully everything will go smoothly and I won't screw this one up. I just went on the Rally Route today and it was freaking sweet. I am so STOKED!
I recently bought new handle bars and a seat only to be selling them this weekend. They did not work well with my ped. The seat was a pain in my ass and the handle bars were so low I was killing my back and wrists. I put it all back together stock and it feels great.
